ParticipantHi,
We woke up on Sunday morning to a freezer that had started to warm up and subsequently defrosted all of our food. At that point the fridge seemed ok.
Cut a very long story short, both the fridge and freezer are not cooling what so ever.
I read various threads about icing of the fan in the fridge section and checked this out but to no avail. We though it may have gone in to defrost cycle and so left it switched off all night.
Switched it on this morning and the displays are reading 16 degrees for the freezer and 17 for the fridge. I have tries the fault code screen, it isnt showing any faults what so ever.
The sysmptoms:
When I put power on I can hear the internals fans start (I thinks thats what they are) then the compressor kicks in and runs for a few secinds and stops. then nothing for a while and then the compressor tries again and so on. It has been like this for over an our now.Can any one point me in the right direction. I am an electrician so have relevant tesk kit but no knowledge of fridge freezers other than the basics
Kind regards

So,am I right in thinking that if these sensors in side the evaporator cover in the fridge are faulty, this will stop the the freezer too?

Hi
It is most likely the compressor that has failed which is NOT covered by the limited extended warranty that samsung has offered.

Hi,
Just spoken to Samsung. They tell me, that they are aware of design faults around this unit and that some one will call me in the next 24 hours to discuss as to what the problem is. He also said they are offering an extended warrantly to cover the first 5 years and that it may be a compressor fault and that is covered. This will be very interesting to see how this pans out.
Many thanks for pointing me in the direction of Samsung. I would have never gone that route. ( I am not counting chickens by the way in terms of what Samsung might and might not do)
I will keep you posted
Many thanksregards
