Not as many these days but this young lad from Ireland is constantly in touch with me via email, Facebook etc. He is currently stripping down an old Hotpoint top loader and has managed to rebuild several machines with a little help and advice.

I wonder what it would take, and more importantly, how much it would cost, to ship a rusty old 1851 from Swaffham to Donegal ?

He has had a machine shipped from the mainland already in recent times. There is an amazing ‘underworld’ network of antique domestic appliance aficionados out there who have access to a huge database of info on old appliances including obsolete spare parts.
