Help With An Indesit Washer

A Friend of mine has an idesit washing machine its an evolution 1600 model no: WE16S UK. They are having troble with it when it spins it makes a hell of a noise almost like a flapping sound. having repaired washer in the past as a apid hobby i said i would take a look. On first inspection it would apper the bearings have had it, But this is not the case the bearings are solid and fine, what it is is the drum does not seem secure it flapps arround all over the place. the two upper springs seem to be inplace as do the lowwer shocks although the drum is flapping and moving around all over. I did notice on the top of the drum NO concret block and two mettal plates one either side that reach from the back to front of drum, these two plates both have a threaded hole in that look like somthing sould bolt to them.
What i want to know is, Should this model have a block of concrete on top of the drum. and if not should This model have any other fitments to hold the drum stable.

According to the diagram there should be a large concrete block on the top of the drum but it doesn’t seem to have a part number?? The bolt mountings at the back are for securing the drum when the machine is in transit only.

Thankyou that was what i wanted to know about the concrete. i know about the bolt holes at the bak it was the bolt holes on top i was concerned about this is what lead me to belive it had the concrete missing.

I had a fault with mine exactly the same and the machine was reporting F08 error, I believe it may be PCB related as mine was reset and it went away, since then though my PCB seems to have failed totally! Nice looking machines but un-reliable…

No, some of the info from the Indecent Company is a little mixed up to say the least. I can identify the bolts, but the washers have two numbers, one of which is called a kit???? the concrete weight does not have a part number but there is a strong possibilty that the number for one of the washers is actually a kit for the whole thing. I will make some enquiries and get back to you ASAP.

EDIT. further information suggests that the machines with the heavy cast iron bearing support do not need the top weight.

Is the machine stable when you run it without a load?

To be honest it is difficult to advise on a problem like this without actually being able to see the machine, they are not built to a particularly high standard to start with 😥 , also the electronic controls can be very troublesome. Another posibility is that the inner drum support may have fractured. This can happen with excessive use of economy features with liquid detergents, very common in soft water areas.
