ParticipantI hope someone can help?
The fridge on my Beko isnt working very well, even if I put it onto max. The freezer works fine, maybe a bit too well now I’ve turned it to max! Also I’ve noticed the bit between in the fridge and freezer is hot.I’ve had a read through the forum which says to defrost it and something about taking the panel out and using a hair dryer to defrost something? I would be really greatful if someone could explain exaclty what I need to do.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Other than leaving it off for 48hrs and switching it back on is there anything else I can do?

Participantall i can say is make sure that the freezer is fully defrosted and then get the freezer fairly warm as if the refrigerant is R134a it might clear the blockage in the refrigerant.
If it doesnt work then you will either have to let the unit die in fridge freezer heaven or replace it.

Yes, it’s R134a. Would a blockage cause the freezer to be ok or and the fridge not to be? Doesnt the air from the freezer go into the fridge? or is that another model?
Fingers crossed a defrost works!

Participantthat another make.
if R134a blocks the systems the freezer goes mad and fridge will not get cold or the worst case which normally happened with bekos are that system totally blocks up this cause total loss in refrigeration and basically it would end up as scrap.

Thanks for your help!
Is it normall for the fridge to be making noises even after being switched off for a few hours?January 25, 2008 at 8:37 pm #240584nova_turbo
ParticipantSwitched it on at 2:00pm today and although the compressor is running not even the freezer is working now!
Can I pressume its dead? Is it worth calling an engineer? -
