help with cda dishwasher please

I need help with my intergrated dishwasher

The model is a cda cw 494

We ran out of dishwasher tablets and the missus put some fairy liquid in the tray instead

I spent an hour cleaning out all the bubbles and water

It still worked for about 20 mins but then something tripped the electric not sure if it was the dishwasher or something else that caused it.

After putting electric back on all the lights on the dishwasher still work but when i shut the door nothing happens

Is there a code to reset it of some kind or would all that access water and bubbles maybe caused another problem?

Any advice would be appreciated

can i just add there are no flashing lights or beeping noises at all when i open or shut the door

There are a few versions but, if it’s the original CW494 it should use these fault codes as it’s a Whirlpool manufactured dishwasher.

There sin’t a reset as such and, if there’s a problem you should get one of those codes as a flashing light on the control panel.

Other than that it’s a case of testing till you find what’s gone wrong with it but, 20 minutes in, it should have powered up most things which is a bit confusing.

as soon as i shut the door it starts straight away normally.

I am getting no error codes at all just nothing happens when i shut the door

I thought it might think it was stuck in a cycle

I read to put on rinse cycle,power off, hold the start button and power on until it flashes , then press the start button once and shut the door to start a test cycle.It does not work though.

I just took the front panel off and the circuit board didnt look damaged. I could not see the pump, i think in must be in the very bottom panel but i have no small allen keys to check

Okay, first things first… there are often no quick answers, you need to work out what the dishwasher is doing or, trying to do when it stops.

It’s fault finding 101 if you like and, it’s all logical. 😉

Start by having a read of this…

The trick is, figuring out what’s engaged or being energised when it pops.

You can eliminate the pump, that runs as soon as you start a program.

Then the fill valve.

Then the motor.

Then the heater.

It’s a simple process of elimination which is time consuming I’m afraid.
