ParticipantHi there
First off apologies if this has been covered on here before but I could not find anything and this is driving me madI have a Beko frost free freezer model # CA7015FF, at first we noticed that ice cream was slightly soft, so the first thing I did was give the fridge a 24hr defrost. Once this was done I plugged it back in and straight away it kicked in and the freezer blocks I put in the freezer after sometime froze.
Great I thought however since the initial freeze the fridge is very quite and after putting a bottle of water into the freezer it did not freeze, nor indeed is the fan kicking in.
To me its like the fridge has reached a certain temperature and now has stopped. Unplugging it for a few minutes and the turning it back on does nothing. The compressor on the back is cold and I took out the back cover in the freezer this morning but there is no build up of ice.
Before I buy a new one is there anything anyone could suggest or has anyone experienced this sort of behaviour with a Beko before and have any suggestions?
Thank you for any help!

Refrigerant issue, bin it and buy a better brand.

Have you ever had this model modified buy Beko .
If not this model was subject to a free of charge recall on the timer.
It sounds like the defrost timer is faulty and should have the mechanical timer replaced with an electronic one.
If you have not had it modified phone Beko on 0800 9172018 and have the Model and serial number handy when you Phone.
If it was a compressor fault the fan would still run.

If it was a refrigerant issue the fan would still run.
If you have had it modified and an electronic timer is fitted then it will need a new electronic timer or the thermostat is faulty.
Both worth repairing as this model was reliable apart from the Timer safety issue.

Hi there
Thank you for your answers, I am not sure whether my fridge freezer would be effected as the serial starts with 09 so produced in 2009.I am not sure if it has a electronic timer, how would I check this?
Also is the theromstat the small PCB located under the light panel in the fridge, I could replace this but not sure where the timer is locatedNovember 16, 2014 at 7:57 pm #421521SAMURI

If it is 2009 then it will be a main PCB fitted at the back of the fridge freezer near the top under a cover.

Hi Bob
So what PCB would I need to change, the main one as you just mentioned or the one under the light fitting.
Do you think this will solve the problem or am I just throwing good money at something which could be put towards getting a new freezer?
Really appreciate your help with this as I have looked at numerous places over the net and its all now become a bit confusing 🙂November 16, 2014 at 8:14 pm #421523SAMURI

If nothing is running it will be the main PCB and it would be fitted at the back near the top under a cover or if it is like the older model it will be in a box at the bottom left hand corner near the compressor.
The PCB’s are not expensive and are easy to change on a BEKO.
It will not be the PCB by the light. Fitting.
Most newer Beko fridge freezers have the PCB near the top at the back.

Just taken the white box cover off to check the PCB, unscrewed the PCB away from the frame and plugged the freezer back in and it started up, I know I am not out of the water on this yet but im guessing the fridge is getting to a certain cold temp and then kicking off, once it gets warm (enough to defrost the ice boxes in the freezer) it seems to kick back in, obviously this is no good for food. Now even more confused!

Is the fridge freezer in a cold room below 10c? as this can cause a problem.
If not then it will be a PCB relay sticking and needs a new PCB.
If it is in a cold room it will fool the PCB into thinking the fridge is cold enough.

Just a quick update, received the PCB this morning, whacked it in and it was quiet, nothing……. and then bosh! the fridge started up, so so far so good, still wary until I have at least a couple of days of proper good coldness, then my fridge wont look like a bachelors fridge (beer and strangely enough some broccoli) and ill restock it
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for Bob and everyone else who helped out on this, I owe you a large virtual pint or two!!!!
Thanks chaps!
