Help with Hotpoint AQXXF 149 – can’t get the filter off !!

Hi – Washing Machine came up with an F-05 error and the door stayed locked. I think I have a blockage – but have got the front panel off but I am unable to turn the sealing plug as instructed – anybody got an ideas on how to move it please? Wife really nagging………..help please !

if you have some thing jamming the filter [plug from unscrewing you might have to break it to get blockage out

Thanks – any suggestions as to how I break it without too much damage to anything else ? Also assuming I can get a new filter plug once I break this one !!! Cheers.

Plug out, lean machine back to a good angle and remove the hose from the tub ot the pump at the pu,p end. You will then be able to extract the foreign body through the inlet tube. Then you can remove the filter.

This all depends on whether or not you’ve got the machine on the plinth/drawer thing.

Hi – good advice many thanks. Leant it back and managed to access the pipes and filter. It was totally blocked with gunge and limescale (and 4 pence and a paper clip!).

Put it all back together but the door lock won’t open. Have tried unplugging, switch off, trying to run a new program then stopping it – but it just makes the door lock sound 5 times and the door lock light stays on – any suggestions ??

take the kickstrip off, and pull the green lever, so the door should open

that usually cures it

Thanks – When I went to try – the wife had put it on a short cycle and let it run through – ended normally and lock came off – seems fine now – but thanks everyone for you advice. Cheers. 😀
