ParticipantHi am having problems with hotpoint washing maching WF560 Aquarius.
The reduced creases number 2 and mini load number 4 lights are flashing along with the on/off button. the machine has stopped mid cycle and is full of water, have re-set the machine and tried the pump water function but nothing happens, any ideas???February 10, 2009 at 8:17 pm #276970helo_75
Participant2 and 4 flashing is inded an f05 fault
its the pressure switch stuck on fulli.e its not emptying
the pump filter is behind the lower kickstrip at the front of the machine
try and tip the machine back before you open it and put a bowl under it to catch the water
and of course, plug out!!

thanks for quick reply have taken the front kick strip off and there is no pump filter as shown in the diagram in the installation book, there is a red disc bottom right hand side which managed to pull off and there is nothing behind it apart from a empty space and some wires, sorry am I being really thick! its difficult to tip machine back where it is!

Participantok, so its an earlier model
the pump/filter is at the rear of the machinetheres a lower access panel at the back, behind therem, youll see a black hose leading from the drum to the pump, your obstruction will be in the black pipe or the pump itself

Participantyou really need to be checking the pump itself for obstructions

Ive just got a wf560 from a friend with a similar problem.. (he told me that it doesnt complete the cycle because there is water left in the drum.. so switching off at the mains is needed to open the door and manually drain the clothes
I havent diagnosed it myself as I have yet to connect everything so I am looking for a bit of advice in relation to proper diagnosis..
I was told that if I do a dry cycle on spin and if it works than the pump is the likely source of a problem.. is this a good way of diagnosing or is there something better..i.e a method or a sequence of things to try and see whats wrong.. I really dont want it to be a programmer because it wouldnt be economical repairing it.. unless of course there is one somewhere knocking about that works..
thank you in advance..

Just do the basics first – check the filter in the bottom hose, then the drain pump for obstructions. Then plug it in and see the pump runs.
If it doesn’t, it gets more complicated.
