    Hi,

I have an indesit IDL50 EN2 (I think it is like the 500Uk??) .When I try and turn it on ( in every cycle) it goes for about 30 sec then the 1st and 3 rd lights come on. The machine stops and empties the water out. Running the machine with the door open it appears there is no water coming from either arm!! The water supply is ok and the the machine empties- so anyone knows the problem.

    thank-you very much.

I need to repair it myself because i can not afford to call anyone out at the moment.

1+3 suggests blocked filters. You may be lucky enough to clean the machine out yourself. Remove all of the filters in the tub and clean thoroughly. Then get hold of a good quality dishwasher cleaner and run it through on the hottsct cycle.

Remember it is a dishwasher, not a waste disposal unit, this fault is mainly caused by not rinsing the dishes before you put them in the machine.

    Thanks for that.

I have taken the 2 filters out-will it create the error if these are not in?

Also I have cleaned them is there any more filters to clean?

    Thanks

You really do need to run a cleaner through it. The internal hoses etc will also be gunged up.

If you cannot clear the fault with a dishwasher cleaner then its engineer time and a strip down to clear the thing out.

    Thanks Jim,

I would run a cleaner through it but it will not run a cycle it stops after 30 seconds!!. I have stripped the dishwasher down and the pipe is clear to take the waste water away. Its only 2 years old!!

Could it be the pipes that bring in water? Although they look clear aswell.

    Thanks

nothing to do with the fill hose.

The gunge will be internal or the sensors that are supposed to detect blocked filters etc could be faulty. It is an Indesit after all. 😥

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have checked all the pipes and nothing there so i think it is a faulty sensor or circuit board!! Can you just pull the sensor out or will that stop it working?

    thanks

    It could be,
    Faulty circulation pump,
    pressure switch,
    pressure sensor,
    PCB, etc, etc.

Or it could just be that Indesit appliances are amongst the least reliable on the market right now. 😉

I know but it was very cheap but looking inside it the parts do seem to be quite well made!!

Good news -it is working again!! After taking some pipes off and fiddling about with it it is now working again. Just doing a hot wash with a cleaner although I do clean the filter after every wash.

But thanks for your advice .

How many dishwashers have you looked inside of. 😀

Had you looked inside a Bosch, Zanussi, Smeg etc you would change your mind, and they are only the mid range stuff. 😉

Very cheap and quite well made do not belong in the same sentence.

    Jim.
