ParticipantHi all!! Thought I’d start by saying what a great site you run here. I have been a member for some time now and have never had the need to post anything or ask any questions as the answers always seem to be here somewhere :), but this time I could really use some help :?. We had a Tecnik 9260 integrated washer/dryer installed as part of a kitchen fit by a well known company and had nothing but trouble with it (once it had passed it’s two year manufacturers waranty). Three weeks ago it finally gave up and we are in the market for a new washer only (line dry is the way forward). I read the posts on here about the Neff W5420XOGB, read the reviews and orderd one through my local (chain) store. When they came to install it, it wouldn’t fit. The rising main comes in right behind the machine and takes up more than 50mm. The fitter duly took the machine back and said he would be in touch with some alternative options. After some time the only machine he could find (he claims) to fit is a CDA ci330. After much reading I’ve convinced myself that the CDA is not the way to go but can’t seem to find a decent quality machine that is ‘slimline’. So here are our needs, any help would be much appreciated
Four people using machine, one wash per day, line drying when poss, shallow depth under worktop (545mm to front of adjacent door), budget of £600 (maybe a little more),sitting on a concrete floor in an open plan kitchen/diner. Should I continue to deal with the chain store and should I take out an extended waranty to cover the machine? Sorry for the ramble. Thanks in advance.August 31, 2008 at 12:01 pm #261320Phidom

Probably not what you want to hear but my advice would be to go for a non integrated one. You then wont need to worry about the limited depth, you will get better value for money and the machine will be easy to get out if it needs maintenance. 😉

Thanks for your swift reply Phidom 🙂 .I’d considered a free standing unit as a last resort, but thought I would post on here before taking this ‘drastic’ action as the appliance sits in a run of cupboards and someone out there may have an answer. I can’t leave this too much longer either as I’m getting heat off the missus 😆 Thanks again 🙂 E

Hi , what Iwould do is buy an ISE 10 washer , it has an outer door which covers the porthole and looks very smart .
But the real good news is that it comes with a full 10 year warranty , it also does a cotton wash in just over an hour , this is as much as half the time taken by many of the current range of washers .
