ParticipantHi.I’m after a upright vacuum cleaner as the panasonic one i have is 5yrs old now and the brushes on the beater bar are worn. Can anybody suggest a half decent one within the 80-£100 mark please?Cheers.Damian.

Hi Damo666
Sorry,no such thing as half decent in your price bracket.
Why not consider just replacing the faulty part,IMO much better than spending money on a chinese built product which would not last 5 years.Dave

Hi Dave.I’ve tried getting hold of a brush roller for it, but can’t find one anywhere. The vacuum cleaner i require the part for is a Panasonic MC-E468 1600W.It’s one of those white upright machines. If anyone could assist with telling me where to get this spare part, i’d be very grateful. It’s been a significantly better vac than both of the dysons i had.Cheers.

@kledave: Cheers.@Helo, i’ve tried that fella already but he doesn’t have the part i require. However, i’ve managed to find it on another site for £24.I think i’ll be going for a new panasonic MCE3002 if i can’t locate the part any cheaper.

As you’ve had several years’ service out of this machine, it would seem a sensible move to spend a few bob and overhaul it.
Bearings probably need a clean/lube, motor-brushes wear, wheels become wobbly…… all a lot cheaper to repair/replace ,than throwing away a perfectly sound, well-built machine.- Or are you one of those people who change a car because it needs a service,or the ashtray’s full. 😕
