ParticipantHi. We got our Samsung RSG5UCRS delivered yesterday and set it up correctly including the water line etc. We then went to install the water filter, but gave up after 2 hours of trying. It just won’t go high enough up to then do a quarter turn right to lock it. We have read the user manual and watched an online demo and everything seems so simple i.e. Push up and turn, but ours just doesn’t go up high enough to then lock. We can’t find anywhere if we have the correct filter and Samsung do not have that information, so are sending out another one, which will take 10 days! The filter we have is a DA29 00003G.
can anyone help to tell us if this is the correct filter or if there is something that we are doing wrong.
Thank you.October 19, 2011 at 10:42 am #361656kwatt

From what I can see it should be this one:
http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Fridge+W … ilter.html
The number you have is just another part number for the same water filter.
And yes, it should just be a case of inserting the filter, quarter turn and it’s fitted.
It’s possible that you’ve got the wrong filter as Samsung changed the water filters to a new design a year or so ago that have an extra tab in them to try to stop the cheap clones I expect but, on a new machine you should’t have an issue. It is also possible that the housing is faulty or something is wrong there.

Thank you for your reply. Yes that is the same water filter but it has a B at the end instead of the G, as the G is the newer version.
We can see when it is pushed up and trying to turn it is leaving marks on the white lock bits that stick out (sorry bad explanation!) of the filter, which possibly means it is the wrong filter.
It did cross our minds about faulty housing, but didn’t think it was a possibility.
The filter itself has a small hole at the very top of it ~is there meant to be something inside the housing that this fits into, as ours is just all plastic inside the housing at the very top when you feel inside.
Thanks in advance.October 19, 2011 at 11:44 am #361658kwatt

It does sound like a wrong filter but it would be possible also that the housing had a problem.
