    Afternoon chaps, I have a challenge for you.

    I’ve been approached by ITV who are doing a documentary on domestic appliances and, although I’ve answered a lot of the questions as well as offering my own opinion on some things. 😉

    Anyway the researcher is asking how that James Spangler threw together the first ever vacuum cleaner with the tools and bits that he had as they want to try to recreate this. Adam Hart-Davies is set to present this program and what they want to do is re-create the first ever vac as a part of the show.

    I have my ideas, but I wonder if any of you know, or can work out, how he did it.

    Yeah George, but it doesn’t tell you how he assembled the first one. Although the old picture does make it pretty obvious and pretty much the way I was thinking.

    An interesting question though I thought, having to reverse engineer something, not that we’re unaccustomed to doing that. 😉
