ParticipantHi all
All of a sudden our iron has stopped producing steam. The soleplate still heats up.
Model – Kenwood G-1030ST-E
I think it maybe the pump as I cannot hear it, and the ight on the control panel does not light up.
Is there a way of testing this, and are spares available?
thanks in advance

from the website i looked at the only thing available is the anticalc filter
as far as the steam is concerned could be pump, element , thermostats, pcb or switches but since it does not look as though they are available its scrap
find kenwood and ring them to check

Hi
Thanks for reply
Managed to get it kind of working, issue ended up being broken plastic cover switch.
Issue I now have is that steam is coming out of the main unit as well, which is from the pipe from the top of the boiler

I did think it was a pipe to release excess steam to stop the boiler exploding. The pipe just connects to a plastic prong on the base.
Im wondering whether its worth removing the boiler and giving it a clean or any limescale?

I removed the top part which was full of limescale build-up. Cleaned out just the top part and its still coming out of the pipe.
Last try tonight will be to remove the entire boiler and check all pipework. If that fails its time for a new one
