I went to a call the other day to a Ladies Hairdressers to fix a washing machine. When I got there the owner had kindly removed the tumble dryer and loose bits of counter top bits from around it. I fixed the machine and volunteered to put the dryer and stuff back but the young lady said her boss would do it when he returned later that day.
A couple of days later a phone call from the Hairdressers pleaded for me to return ASAP as the dryer had somehow fallen off and wedged itself between the sink and the ladies loo with someone inside! The owner was again out and they couldn’t reach him on his mobile phone. I dashed round there and freed off the errant dryer so the lady could be free from her embarrassing situation!
I charged them the usual emergency call out fee and advised installing a more permanent way of attaching the dryer to the washing machine. She promised to tell her boss when he appears!
