ParticipantHi,
Miele 504W Nr 00/68691356
Flashing rinse light.
Found one motor brush worn right down and other badly burnt away
along it’s trailing edge interface with the com – length was only quarter
worn. This was caused by couple of faulty com segments.
As you know these motors are horrendously priced and the customer
wants to go ahead with a motor change.I have a second hand motor which is physically exactly the same but
different part number. For the 504W the part number is a choice of 5328276 or 7134731 –
depending on ser number. My motor is pt number 2988426.
My questions:
1. Can I put this motor in the machine?
2. Can I at least use the motor to prove the fault disappears when a good
motor is fitted? As I don’t want to order up a new motor to find there has been a further
problem caused through a badly arcing motor – your response is
nervously anticipated.Thanks
Laurence

Your motor 2988426 becomes 5328276 . Result i’d say 🙂 Thats the correct motor up to machine number 40/

It should do the job. Don’t forget to charge well for it though.
I find these Miele customers are aggrieved if they aren’t charged plenty

I fitted the motor and everything seemed fine. The fault disappeared until in
the the spin…With a load of towels, the machine spun perfectly then came to the end of
the spin, rested for a few seconds then as the spin light moved to the finish
light the rinses light began to flash again.Turning the selector to the 12 o clock position enables the door to be opened.
I was able to select programs just fine and repeat the spin prog several
times and each time the same occured. The machine seems to do everything just fine except for this anomaly at the very end.
Any ideas please?

Sounds strange i wonder if its just throwing up the old error code and the board needs resetting or something like that.
Usually rinses light will flash within a couple of seconds from not recieving a signal from the tacho. Is the tacho ok on the motor you’ve fitted? could be cracked or bad connection just guessing to be honest.

I know what you mean Phil,
Motor is fine but I did have the brush module off and I wondered if it could
be the brushes bedding back down. I have left them using it so it will be
interesting to see if it disappears or in fact they can continue with it like it
is.I’m guessing too.
