Hi I’m new please help me!!

I have recently moved into a new flat and the washing machine has packed up. I don’t know the make but the number is APM 8702.

I had a small flood in my kitchen and water got underneath my machine. Ever since then my machine won’t do anything at all – the “on” light doens’t come on when I press the on button.

Is there anything obvious I can check before I pay a fortune for an engineer?

PS What is the best program to use for general washing and drying. I’m using program 5 but it takes two hours to run!!

It’s a Diplomat washing machine sold by MFI.

Check the fuse in the plug, beyond that there’s a number of things internally that may be faulty.

As you’re in a flat I’m guessing that the water pressure isn’t that great, that being the case, the machine may well have an extended wash time.
