Hi I have a Holme washing machine model HWM51000H, it is approximately 4 years old. It was working fine on first wash today, the second wash completed and I heard the bleeps which indicate the door can be opened at end of cycle but the door wouldn’t open. I switched it all off and after a few minutes was able to open the door. when I tried to do the second wash all seemed as normal, the usual starting up noises etc but then suddenly all stopped and 6 bleeps sounded with the stop/pause button also flashing. I am sure its usually 3 bleeps and the button flashes when the wash is finished and the door can be opened, so is 6 bleeps a fault code?

Any help appreciated, I have a family of four and just before xmas this has me in panic mode.

Unless someone happens to have access to some info on it…

Some of the Vestel codes may well apply but, what ones goodness only knows.

Usually it`s motor brushes worn out.
Word of caution. This machine from memory is the same as a Russel Hobbs ( Chinese re-badged Haier )and if I`m right it is fairly common that one motor brush wears out way faster than t`other so just because one brush carbon is a healthy 4cm long will not mean the other will be too so check both.

4 years is a good lifetime and I expect Kim has gone back to Argos for another one! 😉

    Martin`s Xmas wit!
If it is the motor brushes and a Haier motor change the black plastic motor brushes for Indesit brick red holder type part number C00273898 ( but it is up to you via a picture to double check ) as these are harder carbons but run them in 1st over 2 to 4 washes minimum with small/light loads first and these will last longer in the long run.
Holme, Haus, Haier and some Chinese Amica machines are not that bad a machine in the lower spin and capacity sizes but not as easy to work on compared with Vestel Turkish stuff but there`s not a lot in it really except bearing changes..
Some of these cheaper brands, overall, can be very successful: 1000spin Haus £<£180, 7 years old gone wrong once-filter blockage and is still going ok. Neff circ 800 quid, drum bearings failed at 3-4 years old £460 on parts alone to put right equals 8 boxes of Kleenex tissues worth in tears alone!

    Happy New Year Martin.

Err maybe, but more a reality check. Kim’s probably spotted the “go Argos” ad over Christmas flogging 1600rpm Beko’s for £179 I shouldn’t wonder. 😀

    Martin, old fruit, old thing.
Nope, he saw the Argos Bush XMas day special 8kg 1400 spin at a groovy £150 and thought, hmm, instead do I buy a mid range Bosch with potential drum bearing/spider arm failure at 4 years old at 400 odd quid or do I get to own and play about with my Chinese Bush ( now keep it clean please! ) get 3 years out of it maybe even 7 years and go away laughing all the way to The Leeds either way.
    Dilemmas, dilemmas.
