We have a Homark cooker hood which has been in the kitchen since we moved in six years ago. Went to turn on the light yesterday and there was a loud bang and flash and now the cooker hood is dead.
Thing is it doesn’t seem to have blown any fuses in the house so what has died? There can’t be much involved can there? Is there an internal fuse I can’t spot? Or is it time to buy a new cooker hood – and what should I look out for if I do?!!

If you can post the model number that would be helpful. Its in the area above the filters. Quite often with these, if the lamp/bulb blows it can take out the switch panel on the front. Can give you more details when I have further info about the hood.

You might just want to check how the thing is installed – very often there is a plug and socket stashed on top of the cupboards……
