I have got a Homark electric oven (02-700306AW) and the combined oven and grill element blew earlier this week. I thought it would be a simple case of fitting a new element, but the new element doesn’t work and there doesn’t appear to be any power to it, do you know whether the grill/oven has an internal fuse as the main oven works ok? When the element went it went with a bang and blew a hole in the element. Any advise you can give towards faulting the problem would be appreciated, I am confident in using a meter to check voltages etc and following a wiring diagram (if I had one!). If you can’t help can you recommend any sites on the web that may be useful.

    Hi,

Sometimes when an element blows it can also take out other components such as thermostats or selector switches. The surge of current under fault conditions can melt, blow or fuse, the contacts on any of the components that are in circuit at the time.

    Hi Sharvale

This oven has two internal fuses 1 for the top and 1 for the bottom.

It actually looks like a resistor connected to a ceramic terninal block, usually located towards the top of each oven at the back.

one side of the fuse will have a pointed coloured end.

    Hope this helps.

Dave Conway may be able to source one or try Caremark

PS Make sure it’s disconnected form the supply :plug: :zap:
