I have recently moved in to a house which has a built-in Homark 2-shelf fan-assisted oven and grill. The temperature of the oven seems to be far higher than what is set on the temperature control knob. Food is being cooked/burnt in only half of the recommended time shown on the packets (taking account of reduced cooking time for fan-assist).
Please could someone help me find out:
a) What model this oven might be. There are no badges/logos/model names on the oven other than the Homark name.
b) Where I might be able to get a user manual for this oven.
And most importantly,
c) What is causing the oven to operate at such an apparently high temperature, and suggest what the best course of action is to get the problem investigated and fixed.
Many thanks for any assistance.
Adrian

No, here’s fine.

The model will be on the top of the oven cavity I expect, it will mean sliding the oven out of the housing to find it.
Virtually impossible to get a user manual, but you never know, the model will be required.
The fault looks almost certainly to be the thermostat, a generic thermostat should fit, I would expect a repair bill in the region of £70 ish to complete the repair.
Hope that helps.
Dave.

Hi Adrian
If you give me a discription of the oven or a digital photo i will be able to tell you the model number and if it’s quite recent (within last 8 years) i should be able to get you a booklet for the model.
Depending on the age and manufacturer the rating plate will either
as dave said on the top or back of the oven (older models)
or on newer models it should be on the side frame (visible when door is open) or along the bottom frame.
If it was the latter 2 then it is possible that the last owners removed it.
as for the over heating it is most definately the thermostat.
regards
Warren
