I’m trying to locate a suitable fridge to house my homebrew fermenter. I bought a standard sized fridge but it took up too much room. Compact / beer fridges appear to be too small and finding out the interior specifications can be difficult.

I need a fridge that will house a fermenting bucket that is 45cm high (that includes the airlock on top), 25cm wide and 31cm deep.

    Any recommendations?

How big is the “standard size fridge” you bought as external space is clearly the issue you first need to address?

A larder fridge (without an icebox) is best suited together with an STC-1000 temperature controller.

Go armed with all your internal/external measurements to a secondhand appliance retailer. Situated in most towns and cities. Your best bet.

    HTH? 😀

I know that beer needs to be fermented at coolish temperatures but with fridge temperatures of 5C or less I wouldn’t expect you to get your beer to ferment at all.
It has been too warm recently for brewing as ideally a temperature of 18/20C is best so what I do is make lots of beer before summer comes and chill a few when needed.
Currently I have 200+ bottles on standby for the summer BBQs

Yeah, the issue here is the space I have available to store the fridge. I tried a regular under-the-counter style one but that was too big (needs to fit under the stairs).

I guess what I’m after is one that fits the dimensions of my fermenter (provided above) and not much more.

As Martin suggests, I’m going to head somewhere that sells lots of fridges and try and fit my fermenter in them all 🙂
