    Hi Guys,

This is my first post on the forum so allow me to say hi !

I have done searches on this little problem and cant find much info – 3 days now searchin and phonin….So you guys are my last resort !

I’m an engineer by trade, although not white goods but telecomms so techniques not a problem.

The problem is that our washer dryer – hoover 1200 New Wave – goes through its cycle upto a point, then stops and all LED’s on the front panel flash toghether – on and off.

I then power down and up again and the fault condition clears.

I then spin to get rid of the water in the clothes. All more or less ok till the next wash…..Same happens – lights come on and flash and power down clears it.

All I did was move the machine from the kitchen to the bathroom – no knocks or bangs…I did slide it down the stairs – 5 of – on its side but didnt let go ! smooth and nice she went.

Any help would be gratefully received .

Thank you very very much in advance.

    Ron.

Sorry Martin – I got to go home and get it…. 😳 I thought “New Wave”
    was the model…..

I’ll log on from home at about 17.00 and add it to the thread.

    Rather embarrassed !

Thanks for such a speedy response.

No need to be, an easy omission to make. From your description so far it could simply be a blocked pump?..But the model number tells us more really….see you later then!

    I’ll wager it’s the heater (wash) 😉

    Ekk – 2 Replies ! 🙂

I’ll get the model number in an hour ….

How can I eliminate these components ?

Just thought – when I put my hand in front of the waste pipe – it were warm, not hot…,,,mmm – could that be an indication ?

Yep! I guess Dave is grateful right now he didn’t place any wager on the likely fault :rotfl:

LMAO – This could get funny !

OK, on my way home now … so to elim the heater would I have to replace it or is there a test ?

Could still have a wager on it …. 😆

Hot and cold fill machine, it’s quite feasable to have “warm” water in it :lesson: 😆

Well I made it home at last ! Traffic in Liverpool is crazy with all the capital of culture road changes….

Anyway ! Serial Number is L8608 if that is of any help or use….

isnt it weird – I searched the web for the new wage and the fire service said that there was a recall on em due to some overspill fault with the detergents….glad it only affected the earlier models to ours !

Warm water – mmm but if it were a 60 degree wash cycle wouldnt it be a little hotter ? so does that mean its taking only the pipe water in and not heating it, pointing directly to the heater ?

Am I close at all ? (about to start taking it appart to check blockages)….?

    Thanks again in advance …

    Ron.

If the heater was damaged, wouldnt it make a full wash when the temperature is set to 0 ?

I hardly think that this can be blokage in the pump since you can set to spin program and (if) all the water is going out nicely.

Do the lights flash continuously or they flash lets say 6 times and stop and then start flashing again? There might be something about this in the manual maybe?

    Hi Yurtesen,

    Thanks for the reply…

I’ll try a cold wash and see what happens. Good thinking.

    As to the lights –

On 1 second off 1 second continuously till power off and on.

Manual – or rather little book that came with it say nothing of troubleshooting or faults…just says call the hoover service line….

    Thanks again.

Ron just a point, you said you had moved the washer down some steps? have you checked that no wires have become disconected?

One simple way to check the heater is to set the machine on a wash programme, then after about five minutes, check your electricity meter. Make sure you have no other high usage appliances, kettles, ovens, immersion heaters etc running. If the heater is working the disc in the meter will be going round quite fast. If the meter is the later digital one then the red neon will be flashing faster than normal.

My God!…I suspect so many experts are now tripping over themselves with helpful advice BUT sorry to say Ron916 but you have got the model number wrong??????????(A8608..maybe???)

Give me all the numbers listed on the plate in the porthole aperture?

    thanks

    Martin
