Hoover 1300 fast iron

It fails to do its final spin, it sounds like it is going to ramp up but doesnt. I have taken off the pressure tube and tried it but no joy, i have checked the pressure bottle but it was clean and i have checked the motor brushes even though they are not 12 months old to no avail. I can look up the pump tube to the drum and even when its empty it behaves the same.

It might be an out of balance problem if you only have a small load and it’s weight is concentrated on one side of the drum. If this is the case try it with a normal load.
