Hoover 8142-80 Filling and draining at Same time

Hi, I replaced the drain pump (bought from your good selves following another thread) in the machine as this had failed and now it fills and drains at same time on all cycles. If I disconnect the drain pump it fills to correct level and starts cycling – any thoughts? I am thinking the heating element may have failed and is causing it to think it is overheating?

sounds like a board failure

how did the pump fail ? mechanically or electrically

if electrically then its probably blown the board as it went

The pump was electrically dead – tested by putting a flex on a plug and applying straight across the pump.
So you think the board is dead then?

Take the board off normally situatied in the top left corner and look for a burn make on 1 of the triacs to comfirm board failure you will only be able to see in blown components if the board is removed kai
