    Hi guys,

I attempted to repair the drying timer on my A8572, it was working apart from cutting out at the 20 minute mark. So I opened it up to find that the cam had a little nick in it that opened the contact that switched on the entire drying system apart from the element. So I took apart an identical timer from a Hotpoint WD21 and transferred over the cam. The switch doesn’t open anymore but once I fitted the timer in the machine it now trips the MCB when I advance further than 10 mins. I don’t know what would be making it short or overload?

    Thanks in advance, James. 🙂

    Hi Martin,

Yes you nailed it! Too many pink wires to fiddle with so one managed to get put in the wrong place. All is fine now and the timer is functioning correctly so that it now completes the drying cycle.

    James.
