Hoover AA230 not heating water

Washing machine not heating water everything else OK.
Element is OK. Power on element but returm leg not being switched by timer. Tried new timer and PCB but no luck.
Any ideas ?

Are you absolutely sure the element is OK, how have you tested it ?

One more question, considering your previous posts are you in the trade ? 😀

I have removed the wires from the element and measured resistance, measures 30 ohms.
I am NOT in the trade. I have a degree in electrical engineering and work as a maintenance technician in a factory manufacturing plastics.
I have always enjoyed messing about with appliances which we use at home untill they die for good !!

Ah, I see 🙂

And no leak to earth at all from the element ? Only I’ve had these fail in the past and you do get what appears to be a good reading across the terminals only to find that there is a hole in the outer casing of the heater and the moisture “makes a circuit”, just a thought.
