ParticipantHi I have a Hoover AAA140-01 whisper six washing machine. I have recently been getting ‘error number 3’ message on the display panel and the washer stops.
I have already looked at the pump & pipes but found no blockage. Pump seems to work ok until 3 minute time-out. Any suggestions at what else I can try that might give me this error?

Drain not detected in the time allowed. If the pump is working and the water is draining, the problem will probably be the water level control system. Blocked air bell or faulty level switch are likely candidates.
Power off if investigating.

Thanks for the reply can you possibly enlighten me further what’s the airbell? Also what does the level switch look like & where might I find it?

Air bell is a small plastic bottle on the back of the drum, with a skinny air hose coming off it. It can sludge up. If you follow the air hose, you will find the level switch at the other end.
Power offf, please.

It was the water pressure switch. Many thanks for the advice & the part.

Can’t have been that then? :rolls:
In fact I have never had need to change a Pressure switch on this model machine? 😕
Anyway, back to basics, it is simply a ‘Drain time-out error’ so for whatever reason the water ain’t get away quick enough and the electronics are kicking up a fuss over it!
So sump hose? Pump? Drain hose? Drain coupling? all in that order, need checking, beyond that I can only suggest you call in a local guy to check it for you. (see link below) 😉
