ParticipantWent to a Hoover AL110 Washer Dryer today with a drain problem –
Not pumping – Hmm easy ! Or so I thought !!!
On cycle it has what I though was an airlock when trying to drain
(Drain pump replaced, hose replaced & sump cleared 3 times also cleared pressure system !)
to no avail – It does drain eventually but seems to “hang” for about 2 mins before draining – I have 240 at the pump & the pump is running – Any ideas ?
The drainage to the spigot under the sink is clear also…HELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP Plz… 😯

If it’s one with the pump and filter assy check it’s not got a 1p coin stuck in the small sprigot on the pump/filter, has to be a blockage.

Nope this is not one with a filter & the pump & hose have been replaced – It sits at the back similar to a hotpoint – & It is NOT a blockage as EVERYTHING in the WD is clean & clear (was there 2 hours scratching my head – & I don’t have much hair as it is !)

What happens if you run it disconnected from the sink spigot?

I have seen this loads of times with this type/model. The fact that the machine does eventually pump out is fine. I assume the original fault was no drainage at all? I have never fitted a like for like pump on this model, i only change the pump end with a universal Askoll. I have never worked out why it ‘hangs’ on letting the water out but it does.
Did you fit a complete genuine pump?

Had a couple of things cause this, one being an airlock after working on the machine. Usually just get the machine out and try and give it some movement whilst its pumping out (back and forth). Dislodged the air every time and never troubles again. The other was a Candy model which refused to pump within a programme but was ok when spin alone selected. Turned out to have too long a sump hose fitted for the model. Shorter hose fitted, works fine (took a while to fathom though 😉 )

No changed it for universal askoll just as you do !
The plumbing – Yes it does go into a spigot but the pipes under the sink are all clear too – Once disconnected it still hangs then pumps out…Wilf – I can’t wait to find out what you do…
…I wait in anticipationThanks for the posts all 😉

machine was moved to temporary position whilst building work is in progress. the outlet hose was unclipped from the back of cabinet and run low through a wall to an open top outlet pipe. if I lifted the hose to purge the air its ok. with the pipe refixed to the cabinet and run into a bucket (dustbin) the water flow was very slow for the first few seconds but when the air was forced out due to water flow machine worked fine. on second test there seemed to be sufficent water weight left in the pump to purge any air that might be sucked back into the end of the hose left the machine with the customer who is altering the waste pipe arangement.
