Hi, I removed a wire a few weeks ago as it was sticking through one of the holes, it now makes a metalic scraping noise which only starts during fast spins and not every time…. I tried looking through the holes with a torch and could pretty much see all the way around eg heater element at the bottom , pump hose to the left of it etc but no sign of a wire, could it have got behind the inner drum ? if so how easy/hard is it for me to get to ? nb I’m an ex tv engineer ( refered here from the yahoo televideo group ) so I’m aware of the safety aspects.

It most certainly will be stuck between the 2 drums (usually catches against the heater) It can be seen easily with one of the super dooper high power umptydiddly candlepower torches placed under the machine shining through the translucent outer drum. You will soon spot it with one of those!

The trick then is getting at it? Removing the heater or the sump hose is the only way for most and if you need help then click the link below 😉

Wiht this model it should have to the right of the heater it should have a pressure tube bottle, remove this then you can look into the tub, you should then be able to fish it out without having to remove the heater or the sump hose. plus the heater is not always guarnteed to re-seal correctly

As luck would have it, it stopped after sat morns wash still in contact with the drum, I managed to get the end through a hole using a very fine pair of tweezers then long nosed pliars pulled it through. Bra’s are now banned from the washer…………….

    Thanks for the replies.
