The on/off switch became loose and lost its ‘click’ last week, and after starting a cycle this morning, about 15mins in, machine stopped working and responding…tried switching the power off at the mains and back on, and also tried twisting the cycle knob a little to the next stage, again no response…

If the mains switch is faulty then the machine would go dead.
We’d need the model number to identify it though.
