Fault: timer not advancing, fills Ok,empties Ok.The timer is the Crouzet type(914 series), thought it might be timer motor coil open circuit but thats Ok so I tried a new timer but the fault persists.I wondered if it is switched through the module( Remco 5038) as I know the heater circuit is. I havent got the service manual for this one so any help please.
The only faults i’ve had with the module are no wash action / spin. Not sure if timer is advanced by module? Check for low insulation on the heater and that the machine isn’t syphoning down the drain. If all else is well must be the module. The good thing with the modules are that they are a good price and fit numerous models.(£28 homespare).
Theres about 20 connections on the module, cant all be for the motor circuit. Just wondered if anybody had had the no advance problem before, as its bank holiday I cant order any parts until tuesday and the customers already muttering about new machines.( No patience these days)I still suspect the module as there is no motor action(motor ok) but there is no timer action either.
To find out what that module controls – phone EMW on (01159)652118. They recon them – they will know. Also the cheapest and quickest way of obtaining a replacement module (next day delivery). 😉
Hope this helps!!!
Steve.
Twas the module, fitted and working hunkydory, customer happy.Odd machines these, older type clockwork timer and new type digital module.Anyhow after 28 years in the trade you still get caught out by a so called simple fault should have remembered the golden rule -never presume. Thanks to EMW( the timer is winging its way back as we speak)and thanks boys for the advice.
