Does anyone know if the Modified Drum Assy (Pt No 03730805 that fits the Hoover TV630 etc series) comes with the rear bearing and support plate. The wholesaler “isn’t sure” but for the high price they want for one I should hope it is a complete mod for these junk bits of tin and plastic 🙁

Yeah it does. It comes as a complete mod kit inc drum, rear bearing, heater support etc.

I ordered one last year for an insurance job.

Is you’re customer seriously considering having the job done ? 😯

    It’s around £70 ex VAT trade ! 😯

    Hang on a sec…

This winds me right up this does! The manufacturer obviously gets it wrong, otherwise there would be little call to modify the spare, then the poor old customer or insurer has to foot the bill for THEIR mistake!???!

Something not quite right there methinks. 😉

Nope, indeed. All major modifications should be subsidised or free IMO, especially considering nearly all the models are less than 5 years old that take this drum kit.

We actually had one of these as our own dryer for a short while – it had two replacement rear bearings and one tub inside a year and went to the tip aged 15 months.

    Diabolical.

Very seriously wrong that’s for sure, not like the ‘old days’ when Hoover found a design fault and produced cheap but effective mods eh?

No way now! Not faced with that option 🙁 In fact you can get the Drum Shaft c/w Pop Rivets, but not the Back Bearing Plate it sits on, so can’t even ‘patch it up’ either. It’s standing in line with all the other 18month old machines at the tip now 😯
