ParticipantHi apologies if this has been solved before but I am scratching my head and can’t find the answer.
i have a number of Hoover and Candy washer dryers that wash fine, dry fine until it finishes and the clothes come out wetter than when I put them to dry.
i have changed the board from one that is working and did not solve the problem, we have changed the pump, pcb, heater, heater sensor, inlet valve, pressure switch and still having the same issue.
hoping somebody knows what we are missing

ModeratorModel numbers would help. Gunge build up in the large plastic condenser is a common cause, a bit of a pain to get at to remove and clean out.:(

ParticipantThanks I didn’t post model numbers as im getting the same problem with different machines, some work some don’t with the same number.
i checked the plastic condenser tank when changing the heater and looked ok.
its strange because if you watch the cycle the clothes separate like they are drying but when the cycle is finished they are stuck together soaking wet but no water in the drum

ModeratorStill sounds like a blockage in the condenser, not easy to see but it doesn’t take much on those machines, even a small build up in the bottom can cause problems.

ParticipantThank you for your replies. I will tomorrow run a dry cycle without a water connection to see how that goes and while that’s running see if I can get further into this condenser unit

ModeratorThe machine will just fill with steam if you don’t have a cold water feed.

ModeratorTake off the fan motor and clean the fins on the fan blade when it’s off use the inlet hose to give condenser a bit of a clean

Participant” dry fine until it finishes and the clothes come out wetter than when I put them to dry” So presume clothes are steamy hot so that at least proves that the dryer heater works. So that leaves other options 1) the condenser is blocked up 2) the fan blades are blocked 3) there is a fault with the dryer solenoid letting too much water through OR 4) the dryer valve is not letting any or very little water through to condense the steam which is a lot more common. 5) problem with a pcboard triggering the valve to often = excess water – never had that one but with Hoover / Candy pcb any disaster could happen!
