Thanks Brian,
I’ve sent an email with pic of both seals – old and new – they look different to me!!!! Thank you.September 10, 2014 at 3:15 pm #418790100949football

Thanks Brian:
Numbers on the machine are 32094005 then 9930 then underneath these numbers 4533 – this information is stamped four times on the label across the top right hand front of the inner door fixing.
Many thanks

FINALLY got to the bottom of this problem……e-spares had sent me the correct part number on the packet BUT the WRONG part inside…….received replacement and fitted no bother at all…….BLOODY THING STILL LEAKS.
If anyone IS interested I’ve now taken on a bit of a personal “crusade/Mission” to get to the bottom of this. I’ve taken a pic of the BOTTOM of the machine and there is this odd scenario. There is what appears to be two plastic bottles (one-unit) and on one side the bottle appears full with what looks like minestrone soup – and we don’t even like the stuff!!!! Any ideas…..I can easily send the picSeptember 25, 2014 at 4:30 pm #418792Martin

The ‘minestrone soup’ are gel crystals (lovely shade of brown) that are an important part of the essential water softener process. Leave well alone!

Many thanks Martin…….my how I am learning on these machines! Obviously NOT the cause of my continued leak though. Water continues to POUR out of the bottom door on the machine. I gathered about 3 litres (plus what was on the kitchen floor) before switching it off. Then removed a further 15 litres from the floor well. Would this indicate the machine is continuing to fill with water – NOT switching off the water input thus indicating a faulty “float” ?

The door seal isn’t likely to be the cause of the water leak certainly not in the quantities you refer to anyway. I would take a close look at the air chamber and pressure switch (that controls the amount of water in the tub).
But trying to rectify faults on a 15 yr old dishwasher will always be challenging and often soon as on thing is sorted then other takes over. At the moment you are in what we call in the trade…. ‘The boy with his finger in the dyke stage’……..and as soon as you take your finger out……. 😉
But seriously, I wish you well, you are braver than I. 😀

Many thanks for your interest – and patience – Martin. I am pleased you kinda reckon on the same department as me….it does appear to be getting too much water into the machine and obviously it has to go somewhere and I know the seals are not really designed to hold back a tsunami!!! Ma in Law’s offer is still on the table (as an anniversary present) so I suppose I’m gonna have to swallow the male pride and admit defeat. I also take into account the age of the machine. I did notice the “float” switch / mechanism is £30-odd pounds too so throwing money at it just seems daft.
