    Hi

My dishwasher recently stopped working and looking underneath i notice i have a melted Capicitor on the motor. Looking online i can get one to fit my model for £12. Is this likely to be the only problem or would it be the motor as well. I can spin the motor by hand

    Hi David,

Yes, probably just the capacitor. What rating is it as that seems a bit expensive, could be right enough but there’s usually a cheap compatible you can use?

Shame, it’s usually a 6/6.3µF or a 4/4.3µFone and those are usually considerably cheaper than the genuine ones.

Yeah, that 4µF one from the link above will work just fine.

Hey i went to a white goods repairer and got the capacitor and replaced it. but the machine wont turn on. I have checked the control dial and all looks ok and the fuse is ok. Would it be the suspressor on the machine or am i in for a lost cause

    Re: Hoover Dishwasher

Something has probably caused it to pop then. The trick now is finding out what and why it won’t power up.

Trace it out, mains in, power switch, door switch…

A meter and a little patience is required.
