hoover dishwasher hnd325/1 (mega load??)

Hi,
This is not heating. Once i had found the element (10 mins!), it metered ok.
There is an odd-looking cut-out in-line and its o/c . Anyone had this before, is there a reason for the stat to fail?
Also why is this dw using bocsh dispensers but candy bits elsewhere. not been to one before.

Graeme does the stat have a brass bit on top of it that screws into the base in the rear left hand corner and in series with heater? IE Haier?

Yes it’s in series with the heater. It is an odd shape, I don’t do H. Its bolted to the back middle, the heater is at the back, hidden. This DW does a 75c wash which she uses all the time.

If OC and in series then i bet the contacts inside are pitted. I open them up to confirm failure.
