    Hi,

I hope someone can help me I am stumped on a repair of a hoover VHC 391 condenser drier.

The drier stops after about 10 mins.

I am running the drier on timed mode.

The drier starts and the heater comes on and the temp of the heater gets to around 100c and stays on and around 100c. The drier runs fine until it is due to change direction then the heater goes off and the drum stops turning the heater then starts briefly again and the drum twitches but does not turn the drier stops.

It is not the capacitor as I have changed this I did not expect it to be the cap but I changed it to be sure.

The drier will reverse if I turn the selector dial and press start then the drier goes in reverse then it will go forwards then when it is due to change to reverse again it stops and beeps.

Does the drier look for a temp measurement from the front sensor? could the front sensor be faulty?

Does any one have a service manual for the drier?

I have applied for trade access but I have not had it yet so I had to post the question here.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Carl

When the dryer stops do any of the lights flash?

When the drier stops the start light flashes but only on/off not in any form of sequence to suggest a fault code.

I am sure I am missing something obvious but I just cannot see what.

If the front NTC were faulty then 2 lights would flash 5 times, repeating. The fact no error code is shown suggests to me the PCB may well be the culprit.

If I disconnect the ntc I do get a fault code. I will have to see if the customer wants to order a pcb.

Do you have a service manual or a wiring diagram?

    Thanks for your help

What form does this fault code show then I wonder?

Putting the onus on the customer eh, why didn’t I ever think of that?

Once you get trade access I will see what I can do for you. What’s the hold up anyway getting trade access?

    Re: Hoover Drier keeps stopping.

The customer does not want to spend money on a pcb so it looks like it is getting scrapped. I get to keep the good the drier so not all is lost.

I don’t know what the hold up is with me getting trade access, I applied 10 days ago and I have not heard nothing all I can assume is that it is because only 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my work comes from white goods the other 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} is from brown goods or electronic board repair.

I did not want to pester admin re trade access
