I have a Hoover Dryer TV 630- about 5 years old. It makes a metallic grinding noise while running.

Having taken the top panel off , the drum is leaning back- some kind of failure of mountings or bearings I guess.

Is it worth fixing and if so how?

Any advice? Anyone know where I can get a manual?

    Thanks

It lasted that long? The drum has dropped and is running against the fan chamber housing beneath. Repair is a replacement inner drum with shaft, and a new rear bearing housing. Parts bill came to over a £100 from memory.

This was a well known failure, new Hoover (and Candy) dryers have the modified parts fitted from new these days.

At 5 years old, my honest recommendation would be to replace the dryer.

Many thanks Penguin- can I just say how wonderful this forum is? Useful and free advice, and on a bank holiday too.
