    Hi there,

A while since I’ve been on but I got great help last time…..

I’ve got a Hoover DT999….. the E3 error message has come up (with 15 mins to go )and the dishes are cold and wet …….

I’ve read the manual and cleaned out the filter….. no joy…… so I’m thinking it must be the water heater element …….

Two things : 1. I can’t find a part for the DT999 – is there a compatible Model part from another model?

    2. Is it easy for a layman to fit a new heater element , or is it a specialist job costing mega bucks ? lol

Any assistance would be much appreciated ……
    thanks

    Re: Hoover DT999

DT999UK is a real enough model number.

The heater is in the up-tube to the upper spray arm, there is also a thermal limiter and a safety cut-out, a thermistor temperature sensor and teh PCB itself. Complicated machine…….. Lot of checking with a multimeter required to decide just what it is that doesn’t work.

Stay safe – power off before going in.

Many thanks Penguin … I thought it might be a bit complicated for me – I think it sounds like a job for my son , who’s a bit more technical than I am …..LOL

    Thanks for the quick reply
    Regards
    John
