Hi, first time here and just looking for some advice! I have a Hoover Dynamic Next DXA 48W3/1-80 (serial number 3100649515416587). This week the spin cycle has gone super noisy with a lot of vibration. I’m presuming it’s the bearings that have gone? The machine is 5 years old and this is the fist fault I’ve had.

I called a local washing machine repair guy and he asked me the brand of the machine (Hoover) and straight away said it cannot be repaired due to the encased drum and that I’d need to purchase a new one. I caller Hoover Official Repair line, they’ve booked an engineer to come out on Friday to me. If they can fix it it will cost me £120, if they can’t then I will just have to pay the £60 call out charge. My concern is that knowing it’s a sealed drum, am I about to be charged a £60 call out fee for no reason, surely Hoover would already know they probably can’t repair is based on the model number? Or can Hoover actually repair it?

Is it worth me getting the Hoover engineer out or should just bite the bullet and purchase a new machine?
    Thanks for any input

unit has a sealed tub as expected

    part number of tub 41022795

cheapest price i can see trade is over £150 so if they are adding labour at £120 and charging you more for the drum it does not make financial sense

Yes they said the £120 includes parts and labour inclusive.

well at that price you cant lose as i would have to pay more than that just for the part

hopefully they will check it over and replace anything it needs and guarentee at least what they have fitted

Ahh but is the tank unit in stock in UK? Their European spares warehouse is in sunny Italy, 10 to 15 day wait.
