Hoover EL160 Easy Logic Washer – Door Seal Replacement

HI, I am trying to replace the door seal on my Hoover EL160 washing machine, but having really great difficulty in fitting the seal to the drum. Anyone got any tips on how to do it? Does the front of the washing machine come off to ease access? If it does where are the fixings for it located.

You should have THIS?

The door seal is retained by a ratchet band on the front of the casing and a screw band on the tub front. Remove both to release the existing seal.

Fitting the new seal is a patience exercise – outer lip over the lip of the tub, whilst feeding the inner part under the lip of the drum. Then fit the tub band, front lip is a doddle, as is the front band.

Lid off gives you better access.

Power off, of course.

Thanks for the reply. My problem is how to get the new seal onto the inner drum groove. I get the seal about half way round onto the drum groove, only to have it start to come off as I work around. I have tried having someone hold onto the seal, but still no luck. I have tried using ‘G’ clamps to hold the seal on but still no luck. I have smeared some washing liquid onto the seal to make it easier to slide over the drum groove, but still it will not stay on. I spent about five hours over two days trying to get the seal on. Any suggestions??
