Got a call to a New Wave W/D W2121 a few wks ago, ancient but in good nick. Had no heat on the Dryer side. The overheat stat ( orient ) type at front rt. side had gone oc. Not having one of these on van stock l fitted the earlier type resetable red spot 160c.
Problem is thats now gone oc although it can be reset l need to find out the cause.

Fan works and sounds ok, no signs of burning on coil and there is good air flow into drum so am assuming no blockages.

I’m thinking l need to replace the other two stats at the front yell spot & blue spot can anyone give me the part No’s and availability.
What are the temps of these stats ❓

    Any other advice wellcome.

As a rule the condenser at the back gets blocked so that needs removing and cleaning as does the fan and fan housing. The fan motor bearings can also be a caution as the motor can slow down due to dry or worn bearing bushes.

The Yellow Spot Thermistor is OBSOLETE. The 110deg Red Spot Stat = 91213538. The reseable TOC at the front = 09069915.

    HTH?:D

    erm

if its a new wave, and it hasnt had a conversion to timer and pcb, and has the a/b board on, then the pcb will be faulty

they were, in the day notorious for allowing the heater to be on when the machine wasnt on a dry

easy to check if you use an ameter when the machine isnt running
