Hoover fridge freezer Model No. HF27C Completely “Lifeless”

Hi All,

I have a Hoover fridge freezer Model No. HF27C. It is totally “lifeless” – no sound, no interior light (bulb is ok ), no power indicator light at the external control panel.

The incoming power lead live terminal at the compressor relay terminal block is live ok. The resistance checks between compressor pins are 6, 6, and 20 ohms with no shorts to earth. That is the extent of my checks.
Do you have any ideas as to most likely cause – Faulty start relay (Danfoss 103N0021)? or faulty thermostat? Would either of these result in no interior light and/or no green ‘ON’ light at external control panel? Any other likely causes?

Most likely fault is the control module.

Thank you very much for replying Bob.
Do you agree that a faulty compressor would not cause the exterior power light and interior compartment light to be off?
Presumably if the Module is at fault there should be a live feed in but no live output.
It is my daughter’s F/F and I will go over and check it out. I don’t recall any obvious means of access to the control module, from the front top of the F/F. Can you help please?

The top control panel is held on with 3 screws under the stick on name plate.
