    Calling all experts

I have a three-year old Hoover Fridge Freezer (HNMF2605A) that has recently started chilling the fridge compartment down to freezing temperatures and accumulating frost on the back panel regardless of the setting on the dial. It’s not making the same kinds of fan sounds that it used to also.

So the question is what is up with my fridge? Is this a standard thermostat replacement, or have Hoover got lots of microprocessors and other goodies on this model that might have gone south.

    Cheers

    Re: Hoover Fridge Freezer Problems

    Hi JC42

this model is electronicly controled by a PCB Module, it may be faulty or it may be the fridge sensor.

turm off the fridge freezer from the control on the front facia if it continues to run in the off position its the pcb faulty, if it swiches off it could be the sensor.

    Re: Hoover Fridge Freezer Problems

    Hi,

I have recently experienced exactly the same problem with our Hoover 2605A fridge freezer. It is also almost 3 years old – (2years 10months!!).

I suspect it is the thermostat and have found them online for just £6. I therefore thought it was worth a try. However, I have been unsuccessful in locating the thermostat in the unit. Did you resolve this? I stripped out the control panel on the top of the fridge at the front. I can see the thermostat wires (two wires) disappearing into molded plastic along the top edge of the fridge compartment – running front to back, but cant see how you are meant to access this?

    Any clues??
