ParticipantHFA27K. This F/F is freezing in the fridge. Does anyone know if its normally the sensor or board on these? I plan to try the sensor first because they are cheap, but the other thing i need to know is, the sensor is foamed in at the back and wondered if the new one came with instructons to fit as the replacement part is described as “foamed in sensor”. Any help please.
Thanks

Hi Andy,
my e-mail is beyzadeb@aol.com.I have just had 2 more F/Freezers with same problem(freezing in fridge). On these models the sensor does not seem to be replacable. First one is a candy CPCA291FXK. This one im sure is the board as the light does not come on when you set the control to super nor can you turn it off from the control, it just keeps running. The next a Hoover HNMF2605AL80 doing the same except control seems to work (super light comes on and can switch fridge off when turned to 0).When i looked at board it had discoloured the white outer casing due to heat but no other obvious signs of problems. I had readings through the sensors. Why does Gias list a sensor that cant be replaced?
Thanks

In my experience it is probably the thermistor rather than the board and they are foamed in. I have sent you the procedure for replacing it. (if you can be bothered).

ParticipantThe reason is it can be replaced.
You will to find where the sensor is in the back wall.cut it out and fix new one in then using fix and foam reseal the area and using silver tape to seal membrane off.
When I worked at EAC they had to be done as per GIAS instructions very messy though and in time would more than likely insulation would breakdown at the point but then out of any warranty.

Thanks for your replies and thanks Andy for the info sheet, it was handy as although i recieved one with the sensor i ordered, it was all in Italian.
Now although things have been made clear to me now, im still a bit confused. The instructions you sent me Andy are the same as the ones that came with the sensor i ordered, but the appliance i have is the Hoover HFA27K which isnt exactly the same as the one in the instructions in that the wires that run from the control board to the sensor are not foamed in but run down the back of the fridge from the top on the outside of the foam and then enter the foam about half way down. Is the location of the sensor the same on this model as the instructions show?
Thanks for your help!
