This is the second fridge freezer of the same model we have owned. The first was replaced before we had it for a year because it had developed faults the Hoover engineer could not fix.

This one was delivered in December 2004 and after performing faultlessly until yesterday, the fridge decided to freeze up, whilst the freezer is operating OK ( or so we think)

We switched it off for some hours, but when we switched it back on, after about 15 minutes we could hear the motor running and since then it has not stopped and the fridge part is starting to freeze up again.

Can some kind soul advise what could be wrong? Husband thinks the fan may have gone…but we are not very technical.

Are such problems easy to fix?

    Any advice would be apprciated.

    I think it’s HCA394FK ?

This is an electronically controlled frost free model and will require an engineer to be honest (overly complex appliance), check the rpairs@ link below 🙂

    Thank you for the advice.

Luckily, having switched it off, leaving it for a few hours seems to have done the trick, for now anyway!

I thought we would need an engineer if it really will not work.
