Can anybody help with a problem with an upright fridge freezer?
The fridge part is not working and the freezer is only as cold as the fridge should be.
A fan appears to be working and the heat exchanger (Electrolux HYK12AA) is getting hot. I guess it could be the thermostat? What does this look like and where is it located?

i have a similar problem with my f/f and the info/advise I have received is the hyk 12aa compressor is burnt out. That is why it is getting hot as hell. Look at it this way if the thermostat is doing its job then a warm freezer causes compressor to switch on causing compressor to get warm. Or another way: faulty thermo means warm freezer does not cause compressor to switch on and compressor will be cold. If you are getting the compressor replaced cheap let me know where you find one. There coming in at about £180 so far here.
