ParticipantHi All
I wonder if any1 could help me.
My dishwasher HD96M hoover has started tripping RCD in house.I am sure that it is relatively new, and maybe under guarantee. I don’t have receipt & can’t even recall where I bought it!
Before I take a look I wonder if anyone knows how old this model is?
The Hoover Service line isn’t open beyond 5pm so I can’t ask them.
Also, does anyone know what may be causing it?regards

Machine was made between April 2003 and May 2004.
Tripping could be caused by just about anything – leaks into the base, short circuit motor, heater, capacitor, mains suppressor are all candidates.
Power off, if you’re going to take a peek…….

thanks penguin45
I appreciate the switch off bit, I was a maintenance sparky many moons ago and had my fair share of pissers 😯 , since 1989 I’ve been in IT though.I didn’ realise that I had the thing so long! The heater element seems to be the offending bit, I’ve disconnected it and no trip occurs. Reconnect it and trips. I’ve only got a multi meter which shows open circuit to ground and element is 27ohms. I don’t have a megger, (just looking actually but they are £90 or so.)
I suppose it’s cheaper to buy element and hope that it is that causing the trip, unless you have any ideas?March 29, 2007 at 9:37 pm #209286Penguin45

Time flies….
I think you’ve answered you own question, really, defo sounds like heater. P/no is 91200137, about £24 last time I checked, plus VAT etc. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one speedily if you email through with the part number.
