Hoover HF27C

Hi there!

I have a Hoover HF27C fridge/freezer and could do with some advice on it please 🙂

The fridge works fine, as does the freezer BUT… the freezer keeps freezing solid behind the plastic back all around the coils and has pushed the plastic off, i have defrosted it and glued it back but it has started pushing it back off again, Doh!

I am fairly hands on and repair most things myself, have good tool kit and a multi meter and will not be beaten!!

Its a frost free, and my research so far has lead me to think its either the defrost timer, the defrost element or the PCB, and I imagine the defrost timer is contained within this?

You can see icicles formed behind the back panel, so this would lead me to think the heater is working, but its either not good enough, not coming on long enough or the freezer is staying on while it’s trying to defrost?

Any ideas or advice?

Oh yea and i have removed the PCB from the front pannel to visually check it over and there are no burn marks or anything that looks out of place or wrong etc!

Obviously not going to tell me a lot but just trying to give as much info as i can!!
